Luis Miguel is a lawyer from the Universidad Externado de Colombia (Bogota, D.C.), with a Master's Degree (LLM) in International Commercial Law from University of Cardiff (Wales, United Kingdom) and a Postgraduate Degree (Título Propio) in International Maritime Law from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid in collaboration with the Instituto Marítimo Español (IME). He was awarded a scholarship by Banco Santander for his master's studies. 

Luis Miguel has academic and professional experience in private law. His specialty focuses on the areas of commercial law, contracts, transport (road, sea and air), ports and transport infrastructure, corporate, litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution. In 2012 he began his professional career at Guzmán Escobar & Asociados (GE&A) where he currently holds the position of Partner of the firm and is in charge of the Maritime, Aviation and Transportation practice. He has also participated in pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for the creation of logistics platforms in Colombia.

Luis Miguel is a Titulary Member of the Ibero American Institute of Maritime Law (IIDM) and the Colombian Association of Maritime Law (Acoldemar). He has served as a Jury in the Corporate Law Competition of the University of the Andes.
