GE&A with a renowned international consulting firm in the transportation sector, developed a set of recommendations for regulatory reforms necessary to implement the public policy guidelines formulated in document CONPES 4118 of 2023 for the modernization of the Colombian port sector in view of the imminent expiration of a significant number of port concession contracts and the need to incorporate new technologies and make new investments for the use of Non-Conventional Renewable Energy Sources (FNECR) in port operations, as well as measures aimed at adopting sustainable port management systems.
These recommendations for regulatory reforms in the port sector were presented to the main stakeholders and trade associations in the sector, as well as to the Ministry of Transport and the competent authorities in the sector, and were very well received. Their implementation at the regulatory level is currently being studied.
